Moist and delicious, our USDA Certified Organic whole chicken is humanely raised without hormones, antibiotics or steroids. Oven baked with a parmesan crust, roasted with lemon and herbs or fried crispy, our whole chicken is the perfect ingredient for classic comfort food recipes.

We're big fans of spatchcocking – a technique which allows for hotter heat, quicker cooking and crispy skin. To spatchcock, remove the backbone with a sharp knife or kitchen shears. Turn the chicken over and press down on it's breast, flattening it. Then grill or roast the chicken until it has reached at least 165°.

Buying a whole chicken gives you a complete eating experience – the opportunity to try meat from all over the bird. Lean but juicy white meat from the breasts and wings, tender and flavorful dark meat from the thighs and legs. Roast in the oven, flatten (spatchcock) and grill, or cut up into parts. You can use the leftover bones and carcass to make a great chicken stock.

Our organic chickens come from a small organic farming collective in the Shenandoah Valley where they’re fed an all-vegetarian, GMO-free blend of corn and soybean meal. In addition to their feed, they’re free to roam during the day where they can forage for bugs, grubs, worms, and tasty greens in their pasture. They have constant access to outdoor grassy pastures with ample shade. And, of course, they never receive antibiotics, steroids or hormones.
