It’s Prime Time: Unlock the Perfect Holiday Centerpiece

It’s Prime Time: Unlock the Perfect Holiday Centerpiece

Whether you're gathered with family or hosting a holiday feast, there's nothing quite like biting into a rich, beefy, melt-in-your-mouth-tender Prime Rib Roast during this time of year. It's our favorite roast for a number of reasons, including its exceptional marbling and tenderness, but cooking it to perfection does require some skill. Below, we're sharing some of our favorite tips and tricks to help you craft your most delicious Prime Rib Roast yet.

SEASON SIMPLY
Our Prime Rib is a star in its own right, but there's nothing wrong with enhancing its natural flavor. We recommend topping it with our Signature Steak Seasoning, or even rubbing it with one of our Signature Butters. No matter which way you go, you're in for a treat.

BE PRECISE
Achieving the ideal balance of seared and succulent can be challenging, but lucky for you, we have it down to a science.
  1. 1) Defrost roast in the refrigerator 24-48 hours prior to cooking.
  2. 2) When ready to cook, let roast sit for about an hour to reach room temperature.
  3. 3) Preheat oven to 475F. Pat dry the roast with paper towels, then coat the top and sides with seasoning or butter. Place onto an oven-safe roasting pan and put into the oven. Roast for 30 minutes without opening the oven, then turn the oven off.
  4. 4) Let roast sit in oven for 2 hours, reducing this time by 15 minutes for medium-rare doneness, or adding to this time by 15 minutes for medium-well doneness. Make sure to leave the oven door closed and do NOT open it during this time period!
  5. 5) Remove roast from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

LET IT REST
Once your Prime Rib Roast has been removed from the oven, we strongly encourage you to just let it rest. By doing this, you're allowing the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, which will maximize the flavor. When you're ready to slice it up, make sure to go against the grain for even thickness.
Crafting the perfect Prime Rib Roast for the holidays involves a careful blend of seasoning, precision and patience – but, with the right planning, anyone can do it. We hope you'll savor this roast around the table with loved ones this year, creating unforgettably memories with every bite.

From our family to yours, happy holidays!
